What fees are available for Medical Practitioners?
NT WorkSafe does not regulate fees and charges, however the scheme provides for the payment of a worker's reasonable medical, surgical and rehabilitation expenses.
Does NT WorkSafe have a guide for doctors who participate in permanent impairment reassessment?
Yes. WorkSafe have produced an information
bulletin as a guide for doctors who participate in permanent
impairment reassessment medical panels under sections 71 and 72
of the Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act.
Allied Professionals
How do I become an accredited Vocational Rehabilitation Provider under the Northern Territory workers' compensation scheme?
Requests for approval must be submitted in the form of the application supplied by NT WorkSafe. Details of qualifications, professional affiliations, relevant experience and role of all service staff will be required.
Applicants should note that additional information or clarification would be sought if deemed necessary. This may involve a personal interview. Applicants must clearly demonstrate how their model of service delivery fits within the vocational rehabilitation definition and procedures, which will be used for placing injured workers in employment.
All available information will be taken into consideration prior to granting approval to operate as a vocational rehabilitation provider under the Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act.
Do all providers need to apply for approval?
Only vocational providers require accreditation with NT WorkSafe.
Treatment provider that is, medical practitioners, or allied health professionals who are covered by the Medical Act, Dental Act, Health and Allied Pensions Registration Act, who consult or provide treatment covered under that Act; do not require approval under the Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act. |
