Injuries and Claims

A worker is entitled to make a claim for workers compensation if they suffer a work related injury or disease and if they fall within the definition of a worker.

To claim for workers compensation the worker must complete and submit a Northern Territory workers compensation claim form to their employer. If claiming for a loss of income, the worker must also provide a workers compensation first medical certificate from a doctor.

A worker has six months to lodge a claim form from the date of injury or becoming incapacitated from a disease.
