Assessors are registered by NT WorkSafe to conduct assessment for high risk working licensing. The assessments are conducted using national assessment instruments.

As part of the national harmonisation of occupational health and safety legislation, the Northern Territory adopted the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work (the Standard) on 30 June 2010.

Assessors who not adopted the Standard have until 30 June 2012 to comply if they wish to continue operating. Until that time, assessors who have not adopted the Standard will continue to operate under National Occupational Health and Safety Certification Standard for Users and Operators of Industrial Equipment - 3rd Edition [NOHSC: 1006 (2001)].
