The term 'plant' covers all machinery, equipment and tools which are used at a workplace. The incorrect use or failure of plant can result in serious injuries in the workplace.
Some types of plant are considered high risk and are known as designated plant in the Northern Territory. Designated plant requires routine inspections and their use requires the operator to be appropriately licensed by NT WorkSafe.
