October is Safe Work Month. NT WorkSafe encourages all Territorians to get involved to raise awareness of workplace safety. Whether an employer or worker it is everyone’s responsibility to help keep their workplace safe.
This year NT WorkSafe, the Small Business Safety Program and partner organisation Beyond Blue will deliver free safety seminars and other activities in major regional centres across the Territory. Additionally, there will be education seminars directed towards members of the public, providing information on what you need to know from a regulatory perspective on household gas safety and solar installations.

The Small Business Safety Program is an initiative designed to assist small businesses understand and comply with their work health and safety obligations. The aim of the program is to improve the capacity and capability of small businesses to manage their own health and safety systems.
The program provides access to Small Business Safety Advisors who are available for free workplace consultations and can provide resources and documents that are tailored to individual business needs.
Throughout October a Small Business Safety Program Advisor will be available for appointments in the following regions:
Katherine - from 12pm on Monday 3 October to 12pm on Wednesday 5 October
Alice Springs - from 10am on Wednesday 19 October to 2pm on Friday 21 October
