Major Hazard Facilities
Major Hazard Facilities are sites that store, handle or process larges quantities of hazardous chemicals and dangerous goods, including explosives.

Examples include:
 
  • Chemical manufacturing.
  • Gas processing plants.
  • LPG Facilities.
  • Some warehouses and Transport Depots.
  • Mines.
The Northern Territory has 10 of these sites, which comply with stringent legal requirements, including the preparation of safety reports, to ensure they are operated safely.
